Which Cricut mat is for what?

When I was a Cricut beginner, I always wondered which mat is for which. It was so overwhelming.

I may or may not have thrown a mat away, not knowing it could be washed lol!

Here is a guide on what is what.

The blue LightGrip Machine Mat offers the ideal amount of grip to keep your material firmly in place while you are cutting, but it also makes it simple to remove the lighter weight material once you are done.

The most popular mat would be the green StandardGrip Machine Mat. It works well with a variety of medium-weight materials.

The deep purple StrongGrip Machine Mat provides a stable surface designed for heavy materials. This mat is ideal for items that are hefty.

The FabricGrip Machine Mat is designed for a variety of textiles and includes a light sticky machine mat. This is an essential addition to your Cricut library if you sew. It is a useful addition to projects using Rotary Blades or Bonded-Fabric Blades because it is specifically made to hold fabrics securely for cutting with simple release. The mat is made of a denser, tougher material that can handle the increased pressure from those blades.

Keep an eye out for my next blog post where I talk about care and cleaning of your mats.
