The Kia Sportage is an excellent choice for a growing family, it’s a great full-size SUV plus all the bells, whistles or like one of the twins would say - all the sprinkles!
We tested the new Kia Sportage GT-Line S with its 19-inch wheels, gloss black exterior trims, and delux scuff plates. I have named her, a beautiful beast.
Interior
Now we all know that screen time is a must on any long trip, so the perfect vehicle needs to take care of things like providing plenty of places to charge phones and tablets and obviously enough space for storing all those school bags (plus tog bags and other cargo) and ample room with comfort even when there are 3 car seats in the back.
This vehicle supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto plus there are charging ports for Apple and Android devices for the front and back passengers. The easy touch controls for the audio system can show the screen image of a paired, compatible mobile phone by wireless phone projection on the 8-inch audio display.
Look at the amount of storage space it has! The legroom for passengers at the back is 996 mm with 1,000mm headroom, and 591 litres (VDA) of luggage capacity is 591 litres (VDA).
The boot is spaciousand has enough room for a 466-litre load with the seats in place, and a massive 1,455 litres with the rear seats folded down.
The New Sportage has a sleek, state-of-the-art interior with intuitive and innovative technologies designed with high-quality materials. An integrated curved touchscreen pad display is perfectly centred in the modern cabin.
Safety
A total of six airbags features in all Sportage models:
· 1 Driver’s airbag,
· 1 Front passenger airbag,
· 2 side airbags; and
· 2 side curtain airbags.
And the safety feature of utmost importance is the ISOFIX child seat anchors which are also a standard inclusion across the range, keeping your precious cargo safe.
Additionally, every model is equipped with an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), as well as Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC) and Trailer Stability Assist (TSA). All models also feature Smart Entry with Push Button Start, as well as an electric parking brake with auto-hold functionality.
A variety of Kia’s acclaimed in-house developed Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology is also on offer, depending on the model.
The Sportage’s innovative body is manufactured to guarantee safety with structurally reinforced ultra-high tensile steel for even more protection. The Sportage is equipped with a variety of safety systems making it one of the safest in its class.
Exterior
Depending on the model, he Kia Sportage has 17-inch, 18-inch or 19-inch wheels. The most difficult decision you may have is to choose which of the 12 different exterior colours you prefer, they are all magnificent.
There are ultrasonic sensors on the front and rear bumpers to identify objects or pedestrians and let you know their distance from your vehicle.
