TWIN MOM EVENT #2

On 29 February 2020 I hosted the 2nd twin mom event.

It was fantastic!

I started this exclusive support group a few months after my twins were born and it has grown to more than 250 twin mommies from Cape Town and a handful from other parts of South Africa.

When I found out I was expecting twins, we were so excited. But little did I know about the challenges that lay ahead. This we only discovered when I was discharged from hospital and there were no nurses to assist me with simple things like nappy changes, feeding and sleep syncing.

Studies have shown that parents of twins had more depression, anxiety, sleeping difficulties and social dysfunction than parents of single-born babies

This group assists many twin moms in the transition from pregnancy to birth to childhood and even to adolescence. The parents of this group has twins from new born to full grown adults and it is really a very supportive little community.

The venue was The Pearl Spoon in Claremont. It was lovely to reconnect face to face with familiar faces and welcome some new faces. We all connected instantly.

Conversation was flowing, laughter was contagious and the food was mouth watering delicious!

We had a profession Senpei who taught us some self defence lessons and a life coach who got us up on our feet and taught us some valuable self care lessons.

The personalised goodie bags were so pretty. Each decorated with a fresh sunflower from our recurring sponsor, Mamas Flowers.

Our lucky draw prize, table and goodiebag sponsors were:

Havainnas (recurring sponsor)

Mamas Flowers (recurring sponsor)

PURA soda (recurring sponsor)

XOXO baby (recurring sponsor)

Thanks to our goodie bag sponsors, the moms were truly spoilt.

The next social event would of been the Twins Dad Event, but this had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thanks Zulyjay Photography for the beautiful pictures.

Keep safe everyone.
