Sunlight Extra - Lunch with Azania Mosaka #InspiredByNature

I was invited by Sunlight to join Azania Mosaka (television presenter, radio host and MC) at her home in Johannesburg for a Sunlight food masterclass and intimate lunch led by dietician Mpho Tshukudu.

The event took place on Sunday, the 28 April 2019. There were some tedious delays at the Airport due to the Cape Town misty conditions, but that never dampened our spirits and we made it anyway.

On arrival at Azania’s home, I immediately felt the warmth of the atmosphere. The place was lit, besides lit in the way you are thinking; it was lit with natural light, broad smiles, excitement in the air and of course the inviting aromas of whatever Mpho was cooking in the kitchen.

The dining table was decorated with the most beautiful shades of yellow roses and green fauna. The gold cutlery and exquisite dinner set with gold trim fitted perfectly with the theme. I was so excited to be part of this.

Dr Ela Malanga was also a guest at Azania’s table; she taught us how to breathe, how to appreciate nature, how nature is in tuned and in synch with our own bodies. How we are nature! What an inspiring, motivational doctor. I felt that even after her informative sessions I look at everything differently and appreciate nature so much more.

Mpho Tshukudu, was cooking up a storm, so amazingly with grace she cooked and presented the meal.

As a mother we all want to feed our kids healthy and nutritional meals and snacks, so you can imagine all the questions I had for her. She answered them to my satisfaction and I have already implemented some of her tips on my return home. Healthy eating is delicious.

For starters we had beetroot, raddish topped with some lentils and dill. So delicious and refreshingly different to how I normally eat.

The main course consisted of butternut cubes, some broccoli and peas, Kudu steaks, chicken and risotto.

Dessert was some mouth-watering Cape Town figs which were in the oven briefly and some homemade kale choc chip and chocolate ice cream, which was made with raw milk.

Azania was the perfect host, it really felt like I had known her for a long time. Conversation was flowing, laughter was contagious, and selfies were on point.

We were gifted with an amazing goodie bags which contained Sunlight Extra dishwashing liquid, a beautiful white and cork tea set, Dr Ela Malanga’s book, instant prints from the day, Morinaga powder, Natural Aromat and of course some flowers.

I was really honoured to be part of this #InspiredByNature event.

Thank you Sunlight Extra and Azania for a lovely day in Johannesburg.
